Hemorrhoid Treatment by Infrared Coagulation
in New York City

This state-of-the-art hemorrhoids procedure is called IRC (Infrared Coagulation). It is an in-office hemroids procedure, FDA approved, non-surgical, pain free, quick with immediate relief, no lengthy recovery period and covered by most insurances. It is currently the preferred method for treating hemorrhoids.

Why is IRC the preferred method to treat hemorrhoids?

IRC is fast, painless and does not require an overnight hospital stay. It is performed in a doctor’s office, quickly and safely.

How does Infrared coagulation procedure work?

A small probe contacts the area directly above the hemorrhoid exposing the tissue to a lightning-fast burst of infrared light. This coagulates the vein above the hemorrhoid causing it to shrink and recede.

Is there pain involved?

No. The IRC hemorrhoids procedure is virtually pain free, thus there is NO use for anesthesia.

How long is the IRC procedure?

Allow 30 minutes for the initial consultation. This consultation includes examination, your diagnosis and education regarding IRC. The hemorrhoids treatment itself takes 10 minutes.

Follow up treatments take roughly 10 minutes per visit.

Will I need any preparation prior to Infrared Coagulation Hemorrhoids Treatment?

No. Nothing in particular needs to be done.

Can I be treated with IRC if I am on any medication?

Yes—but always inform our physician of any medications you are taking before undergoing any procedure.

Can actively bleeding hemorrhoids be treated?

Yes. The very first IRC treatment should significantly reduce your hemorrhoids bleeding.

Are there any after-effects?

In most cases there are none. Most patients are relieved of their hemorrhoids pain and resume everyday life activities right after procedure. However, it is recommended that you add high-fiber foods to your diet.

How many visits are required?

Our doctor evaluate each patient on a case-by-case basis. Your examination will determine how many visits are required. Depending on the severity of your hemorrhoids you might need three to six visits at two-week interval.

Do I need a referral?

No. There is no need for referral.

Will my hemorrhoids come back after the IRC treatment?

Millions of patients have been successfully treated with IRC. Experience tells us that hemorrhoids treated with IRC generally do not recur. A sensible diet, moderate exercise and proper bowel habits will also help keep you hemorrhoid free.

Anyone can have trouble with hemorrhoids. But you don’t have
to live with them. By working with us, your hemorrhoids can be
